I may hav easked this quesiton in the past.
Does anyone know of a utility to display Infiniband switch topology and the
links between switches?

I am familiar with the command line tools, I more mean taking the outout of
these tools and making a graphical plot.

Hi John,

My Mellanox knowledge is some years out of date, but Mellanox makes a
proprietary and expensive monitoring tool with a GUI. I believe it has a
30-day trial mode, so you can install it and try it. And I think it
displays a graphical view of your topology.

But typically you would just use ibnetdiscover, e.g.

Hello,

to see your topology, you can use Netloc from hwloc:
https://github.com/open-mpi/hwloc
See the image in attachment.

You need to compile and install the whole project.
Then, you will have a tool called netloc_ib_gather_raw that will use
ibnetdiscover to collect data about your Infiniband network.
This tool needs root access or at least access to the Infiniband device
file (like ibnetdiscover).

Then you need to convert your ibnetdiscover data into Netloc data with
netloc_ib_extract_dats.

Once it is done, the last step is to convert Netloc data into json
format with netloc_draw_to_json.

Now you will be able to open netloc_draw.html in your web browser and
display your json file.

Contact me if you have any question or problem about using it.

Regards.

Cyril.

A colleague used this a while ago I think (probably with some extra
patches):

https://github.com/bacaldwell/ib_d3viz

It uses d3.js to render.
