[Beowulf] ddt help?

while i wait spinning up support with allinea, i wonder if anyone here
does any DDT debugging with mpi+cuda programs?

when i try to debug even a non-mpi cuda program, i can't seem to get
ddt to attach to the gpu and then step through the code.

when i run the code, it seems to hold on the first call cudaSetDevice,
and the "GPU Devices" tab on the right side never shows a device
attached.

clearly i'm doing something wrong. it's also not unimaginable that
i've configured the box in such a way that ddt can't do what it needs
to, but i don't get any errors anywhere.

any thoughts?
